The Lowdown on House Flies

Has your home recently been hit with an invasion of house flies? You'll be glad to learn that these pests only possess a lifespan of between 15 and 25 days. But even with such a short life expectancy, this seems to be plenty of time for them to cause untold havoc.

Why are House Flies Such a Troublesome Pest

House flies are some of the worst carriers of disease known to mankind. They carry viruses, bacterial ailments, and even parasitic infections. One of the main reasons they are so troublesome is because of their sheer numbers. A female fly can lay up to 9,000 eggs in her short life time, usually in batches of between 75 to 150 each.

House flies love warm temperatures. Since it is generally much warmer inside the average human home than it is outside, they will do anything they can to enter yours. Once inside, they develop very quickly. And, naturally, they also do everything in their power to reproduce their species as quickly as possible.

House Flies Happily Feed on Human Waste

A house fly loves nothing more than to get inside a human home. Once in, they get right to work by feasting on our waste. House flies usually consume liquids but also have the ability to liquefy certain forms of solid food. Because of their disgusting diet, they are also very handy at promoting the spread of disease. This is the main reason why the house fly is one of the worst pests known to mankind.

What are the Diseases that House Flies Can Carry?

House flies are some of the worst disease carriers known to man. They are known to carry a wide number of infectious diseases, including - but not limited to - the following:
